Is there a worst time to drink tea?

  • Empty stomach – Tea should never be drunk on an empty stomach, as this can increase cortisol, increase inflammation and may even cause ulcers over time.
  • 8-10 hours before sleeping- Tea should not be consumed at all 8-10 hours before sleeping at night. This is because it can disturb your sleep and can increase the problem of anxiety, dryness and insomnia .
  • In case of acidity- If you have acidity problem, then drinking tea during this time can be harmful for you. Actually, the nature of tea is acidic and in such a situation drinking it can cause heartburn.
  • Just before or after meals- Drinking tea just before or after meals should also be avoided. This is because tea can reduce the ability to absorb nutrients.
  • With iron supplements- The tannins in tea can interfere with iron absorption. These tannins bind to iron, making it difficult for the body to absorb it. Therefore, it is best to avoid drinking tea with iron supplements.

The best time to drink tea

Now you must be thinking, if all the times to drink tea are wrong, then what is the right time for it. The doctor has also told the right time to drink tea, by following which you will be able to enjoy tea and you will not be harmed by it. Let us know what is the right time to drink tea-

 

  • You can drink tea 1-2 hours after waking up - in the morning, preferably before 12 noon. However, make sure that you drink tea only after eating something like nuts and seeds for breakfast.
  • Occasionally at night- You can drink tea occasionally at night. However, this is only for those who work in night shifts.
