The UAE's foreign ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether it was engaging in any diplomacy on the issue. Spokespeople for Saudi Arabia's international media office, Qatar's foreign ministry, Oman's information ministry and Egypt's foreign ministry also did not immediately respond.
Gulf countries are afraid of this
Gulf countries fear that any Iranian retaliation for the US strikes could also hit US military bases in their countries, and power plants that support the regional economy. Saudi Arabia and Qatar have strong ties with the Trump administration.
