The Arab countries had clearly warned the United States that any military action against Iran would have devastating security and economic consequences, directly impacting American interests.
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman had pressured Washington against the attack, according to a Wall Street Journal report. Following warnings from Arab countries, Trump postponed the attack, citing a decrease in killings in Iran.

The Gulf state official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the four countries had conveyed to Washington that any attack would have serious consequences for the wider region, both in security and economic terms, ultimately affecting the United States itself.
The official further said that they warned Iran that any retaliatory attack by it on US bases in the Gulf would have serious consequences for Tehran's relations with other countries in the region.
The UAE's foreign ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether it was engaging in any diplomacy on the issue. Spokespeople for Saudi Arabia's international media office, Qatar's foreign ministry, Oman's information ministry and Egypt's foreign ministry also did not immediately respond.
Gulf countries are afraid of this
Gulf countries fear that any Iranian retaliation for the US strikes could also hit US military bases in their countries, and power plants that support the regional economy. Saudi Arabia and Qatar have strong ties with the Trump administration.
Both Qatar and Egypt played a key role in mediating with the US over the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
