News Topical, Digital Desk : A beach shack owned by Luthra Brothers, located near Romeo Lane in Goa's popular Vagator area, has come under scrutiny after a Mumbai woman and her family members filed a case of assault against them.
It is alleged that club staff and bouncers allegedly attacked a group of 13 tourists from Mumbai with rods. Anjuna police have filed a case against club manager Ajay Kavitkar, staff member Junaid Ali, and several security personnel for assault, criminal intimidation, and misconduct with women.
The incident occurred on the night of November 1st. A Mumbai resident, Vaibhav Chandel, alleged that club employees spoke rudely, behaved inappropriately, and beat her with a rod. She described the club as suffocating and said there was only one entrance.
What is the whole matter?
Vaibhav Chandel, a Mumbai resident, said she went to Romeo Lane in Vagator on November 1st with her cousins. They were a group of 13 people. The club is designed in such a way that it's very stuffy. There's only one entrance and one exit, and that's at a high altitude. Therefore, getting in and out of the club is very difficult.
Vaibhav Chandel said, "When we were leaving the club around 3 a.m., a heavy chair was in our way. My cousin kicked it aside, after which the club staff spoke rudely and mistreated us."
You have no right to be here
The club manager then told them, "You guys are breaking the furniture. We should have kicked you out earlier. You don't deserve to be here." He then grabbed her cousin's collar.
Vaibhav Chandel alleged that when we apologized and tried to leave, he called all the security guards and bouncers. They started chasing us and assaulting us. It was difficult to leave the club, so they chased us and beat people in groups.
Hit sister on the chest
They hit my sister in the chest and pushed her so hard that she fell down the stairs. They barricaded the entrance so we couldn't get out. When my brother tried to remove it, a bouncer ran towards him with a rod and began beating him severely.
According to the FIR, when Chandel tried to protect his brother, the staff slapped him, tried to pull off his T-shirt, and repeatedly abused him. A case was filed against club manager Ajay Kavitkar, another staff member, Junaid Ali, and security personnel.
Regarding this incident, Chandel told the police that if you do not take the safety of women and tourists seriously, such incidents will continue to happen in Goa.
