News Topical, Digital Desk : The US has made a major claim in the ongoing war against Iran. Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper told a press conference on Thursday that US forces have sunk or destroyed more than 30 Iranian vessels since Operation Epic Fury began.
"We've now sunk over 30 ships. In just the last few hours, we've hit an Iranian drone carrier, which is about the size of a World War II aircraft carrier. And that ship is currently in flames," Admiral Cooper said.
He further stated that Iran's ballistic missile attacks have decreased by 90 percent compared to the previous day, while drone attacks have decreased by 83 percent. This decrease is due to US and Israeli airstrikes, which have extensively targeted Iran's missile launchers, production facilities, and navy.

Operation Epic Fury began on February 26, 2026, when the United States and Israel launched a massive air campaign against Iran. Its primary objective was to eliminate Iran's ballistic missile capability, naval capabilities, and nuclear threat. US President Donald Trump described it as a "force for peace" campaign, with the goal of completely destroying Iran's navy.
Explosions were heard in Abu Dhabi
Meanwhile, tensions are rising in the Gulf region. Several loud explosions were heard in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. The UAE's National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority issued a statement saying air defense systems were actively responding to missile and drone threats. Residents reported seeing smoke rising as the explosions occurred, and sirens sounded across the city.
Missile and drone attacks on Gulf countries intensify
Iran has stepped up missile and drone attacks on Gulf countries, including the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and others, in response to US-Israeli strikes. The UAE claims to have intercepted hundreds of missiles and drones, but some debris has fallen to the ground, causing damage and casualties in civilian areas.
