This actress Apara Mehta who plays Tulsi's mother-in-law Savita Mansukhhani Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi , recently in an exclusive interview with Friday Talkies revealed that while she was shooting for her most popular TV show, she was offered Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Devdas.

The actress said, "Around Diwali in 2000, I received a call on my landline. The person on the other end of the line told me that he was Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I was left speechless. I was making tikkis, he told me that he was making a film called Devdas and he was offering me a small role in it. He called me and I put the phone down and went straight to meet him".

The shooting of 'Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' went on for a long time

Apara Mehta further said, "After many meetings, the song in which I was working, 'Kahe Chhed Chhed Mohe' from Devdas was to be shot. It was a 12-day shoot. I thought it was a great opportunity and I would adjust my shooting timings, but the shoot was extended for 17 days. These were such 17 days that I could neither cancel the shooting of Devdas nor the shooting of my daily soap".
