Paris becomes a cantonment

The protesters had announced to shut down everything in Paris. However, according to French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, the protesters have failed in their intentions. This protest first started on social media, after which a gathering of protesters took place in Paris. In such a situation, more than 80,000 policemen were deployed in Paris. The police immediately arrested the protesters who broke the barricades.

What is the reason for violence?

Arson and violence have been seen at more than 30 places in Paris. Before the violence, a 'block everything' movement was launched on social media. In fact, French Prime Minister Bayrou had presented a plan to save 44 billion euros (about Rs 4 lakh crore) in the budget, for which he was heavily criticized and he had to lose his power.

French President Emmanuel Macron appointed Defense Minister Lecornu as the new Prime Minister. At the same time, a rebellion has started in Paris against the decisions of Emmanuel Macron.

Violence has already happened

However, this is not the first time such violence has been seen in Paris. In 2022, the youth's anger erupted against the government over the pension changes. In 2023 also, a young man lost his life due to police firing during the protest, after which terrible violence broke out in Paris.
