What is the detail
In a message sent to its employees, Vistara said that the VRS scheme is for those employees who have completed five years of service in the company. What did Air India do?
Let us tell you that before Vistara, Air India had also said in a message sent to its ground staff, "We are announcing a Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) for employees with at least five years of continuous service in Air India and a Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) for employees with less service than this." Air India had said that the window to participate in both these schemes will remain open till August 16. The airline said that the "acceptance" and "release date" of applications will be decided by the management. Let us tell you that VSS is a scheme or proposal in which the employer asks the employee to voluntarily resign without any layoff and also gives him appropriate compensation.
Impact on 600 employees!

A voluntary separation scheme package will be brought for employees who are unable to be accommodated in any group. According to sources, the merger process is expected to be completed by the end of September or early October. Only when this process is completed, the exact number of affected employees will be known. Let us tell you that the Tata Group took over Air India in January 2022.
