News Topical, Digital Desk : A strong 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck near Tonga in the South Pacific Ocean on Tuesday. The United States Geological Survey reported that the quake struck Tuesday evening local time at a depth of about 237 kilometers.
Earthquakes that occur at shallow depths are felt more strongly at the surface. The epicenter of this quake was in the ocean, located 153 kilometers west of Neiafu, the island nation's second-largest city. There were no immediate reports of damage.
