The election symbol clock dispute between Sharad Pawar vs Ajit Pawar was heard once again in the Supreme Court today. The hearing was conducted by a bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan.
In the court, Sharad Pawar faction has accused Ajit Pawar faction that the party has been negligent in giving a disclaimer on the clock election symbol in the newspapers as per the court's order. After this, the court asked to produce the newspapers.
When Trump was mentioned in the courtroom
While looking at the newspaper, Justice Suryakant said that there is a disclaimer just below Donald Trump's photo. On this, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the lawyer representing Sharad Pawar, said that thankfully he did not file the form from here. The judge also started smiling after listening to Abhishek Manu Singhvi.
Let us tell you that there has been a demand to stop Ajit Pawar faction from using the 'clock' symbol in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. During the last hearing, the court had said that violating this order would be contempt of court. The court had also issued a 36-hour ultimatum.
What has Sharad group demanded?
The Sharad Pawar faction believes that the clock has been associated with Sharad Pawar for the last 30 years and the opposition faction is misusing this election symbol. The party says that the election symbol has been with Sharad Pawar for a long time, so there is confusion among the voters, so the 'clock' election symbol should be given to the Sharad Pawar faction.
