
Sambhal News: Five months after the violence in Sambhal in November 2024, Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rahman Barq was questioned by the SIT. Talking to ABP News after the interrogation, the SP MP said that since all this is part of the investigation, I cannot tell what was asked of me.
The SP MP said that I did not know what questions would be asked to me but I gave truthful answers to whatever was asked to me.
SP MP Ziaur Rahman Barq said I have faith in the constitution and the law of the country. I have answered all the questions asked by the SIT. I followed the instructions of the High Court. I will not tell what questions they asked me. This is part of the investigation but I have answered all the questions. It was my responsibility to cooperate in the legal process and I did that. I have given the cooperation they had asked for. I have faith in the courts of the country.
What did the SP MP say?
SP MP Ziaur Rahman Barq left his house at around 11:00 am and first reached Sambhal police station and then from there reached Nakhasa police station. His interrogation started at 12 noon. During this time, a Supreme Court lawyer was also present with the SP MP and many other local lawyers also reached the police station with him, but the SIT questioned the SP MP in private. During this time, the SP MP's lawyer was also present at the police station.
The SP MP said that he was not present in Sambhal on the day of violence, he was in Bangalore and was present on the day the first survey was conducted. And on Friday he did not give any provocative speech but answered the questions of the media, so he has nothing to do with the violence. At 02:20, after answering the questions of the SIT, the SP MP first went straight from the police station to the graveyard where he read Fateha on the grave of his grandfather, former MP late Dr. Shafiqur Rahman Barq and after that reached his home. SIT officials say that the SP MP cooperated in the interrogation today and answered the questions, if needed, he can be called for further interrogation.
