New Delhi: Recently, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has taken action against three NBFCs of the country and Sachin Bansal's Navi Finserv. Regarding this action, today the Central Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das (RBI Gov Shaktikanta Das) said that RBI does not work as a policeman. RBI only monitors the financial market and takes action when needed.
Let us tell you that on Thursday, RBI took strict action against Sachin Bansal's Navi Finserv and three other NBFCs. As per RBI's instructions, now these financial institutions will not be able to approve and disburse any loan after October 21, 2024.
Speaking at the India Credit Forum hosted by Bloomberg, Shaktikanta Das said that we are not policemen but we watch the financial market very closely. We also take action whenever we feel it is necessary.
Inflation is within limits
Regarding the current inflation rate in India, Shaktikanta Das said that the inflation rate of the country is still within the target range. Inflation is expected to come down in the coming time. Apart from this, on India's development, he said that India's development story is intact.
In such a scenario, the RBI is very careful in monitoring the overall outlook for India's growth and reducing inflation.
