The Russia-Ukraine war is not stopping and now a move by America is going to lead to more bloodshed in both the countries. In fact, US President Joe Biden has allowed Ukraine to use long-range missiles supplied by the US to attack deep inside Russia. Now this has eased the sanctions on weapons.
Biden took this decision for this reason
According to a US official this was done because Russia is deploying thousands of North Korean troops to strengthen its war.
The decision to allow Kiev to use the Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS, for strikes deep inside Russia comes as President Vladimir Putin has deployed North Korean troops to Ukraine's northern border in a bid to recapture hundreds of miles of territory seized by Ukrainian troops.
Biden gives big help to Ukraine before leaving
Biden's move follows the presidential election victory of Donald Trump, who has said he would end the war quickly and has created uncertainty about whether his administration will continue America's crucial military support for Ukraine.
The use of long-range missiles may have been in response to North Korea's decision to support Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
Permission was being sought to attack inside Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and many of his Western supporters have for months been pressing Biden to allow Ukraine to strike military targets inside Russia with Western-supplied missiles, saying U.S. sanctions have made it impossible for Ukraine to try to fend off Russian attacks on its cities and power grid.
Some Western countries had argued that the border and other US constraints could lead to Ukraine losing the war. However, this debate became a source of disagreement among Ukraine's NATO allies.
Let us tell you that Trump has claimed that as soon as he takes power, he will first end the Russia-Ukraine war. Now it remains to be seen what impact Biden's decision will have in the future.
