United Nations: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres praised India for its contribution of peacekeepers to the Lebanon operation. Amid global conflicts, he said wars from Ukraine to Sudan, the Middle East and far beyond are creating a landscape of destruction and fear.
Recalling Mahatma Gandhi's policy of non-violence, Guterres said that it is the greatest strength available to humanity. It is more powerful than any weapon. He said Gandhi's idea of Satyagraha influenced Nelson Mandela in South Africa and Martin Luther King Jr in the US. They were deeply influenced by Gandhi's concept of Satyagraha, which teaches that truth and justice are achieved not through violence but through moral courage and peaceful dialogue.
