Mohamed Muizzu In India. Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu and Maldives First Lady Sajida Mohamed arrived in New Delhi on Sunday on their first bilateral visit to India. During this, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Muizzu and praised the Maldives President's commitment to enhance bilateral relations.
During his meeting with Muizzu, Jaishankar expressed his commitment to further strengthen the relations between India and Maldives. He also expressed hope that his talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
Sharing his photo with Muizzu on Twitter, Jaishankar said he was delighted to welcome President Mohamed Muizzu on his State visit to India.
Any decision of Maldives will not be against India: Muizzu
Talking to the Times of India newspaper, he also said that Maldives will never take any decision which will weaken India or spoil the relations between the two countries.
In fact, when he was asked that at present the relations between Maldives and China are very good, then India can be confident that Maldives will never do anything that will weaken India's security.
On this, President Muizzu said that India is our important partner. Both countries are good friends and the relations between the two countries are related to important interests. Any decision of Maldives will not affect India's security. At the same time, our talks with any country will not weaken our relations with India.
Muizzu is on a visit to India from 6-10 October
During this visit, President Muizzu will also hold meetings with President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior officials. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh welcomed him on his arrival in Delhi. Muizzu has come to India from 6-10 October on the official invitation of President Draupadi Murmu. This is Muizzu's second visit to India.
Muizzu has adopted a conciliatory stance after the recent souring of relations with India. He thanked India for financial assistance and described New Delhi as Male's closest ally. His visit will strengthen the relations between the two countries.
