According to the Panchang, the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Magh month is starting on 17 January at 04:06 am. At the same time, Chaturthi Tithi will end on 18 January at 05:30 am. Method of worship of Lord Ganesha (Sankashti Chaturthi Puja Vidhi)

 

On the day of Sankashti Chaturthi, wake up early in the morning and after taking a bath, meditate on Lord Ganesha and take a vow to fast. Now spread a green or red cloth on the chowki at the place of worship. After this, install the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha. First of all, perform Jalabhishek of Lord Ganesha and

 

Apply yellow sandalwood to them.

 

After this, offer flowers, fruits, roli, akshat as well as 21 durva to Ganpati ji. Offer laddu, modak and tilkut to Ganesh ji as bhog. Finally, do the aarti of Ganesh ji while reciting the fast story of Sankashti Chaturthi. After seeing the moon in the evening, offer arghya to the moon and end your fast.
