If it is not possible for a person to bathe in the Ganga, then you can also bathe at home on this day by mixing Gangajal in the water.

Method of worship of the fast (Rishi Panchami puja vidhi)

On the day of Rishi Panchami, wake up early in the morning and after taking bath etc., clean the house and temple thoroughly. After this, spread a mat at the place of worship and keep a stool on it. Also collect all the worship materials like incense, lamp, fruits, flowers, ghee, panchamrit etc. After spreading a red or yellow cloth on the stool, install the picture of Saptarishi and fill the Kalash with Gangajal.

If you wish, you can also install a picture of your Guru. After this, take water from the Kalash and offer it to the Saptarishis and show them incense sticks and lamps. Now offer them fruits, flowers and offerings etc. During the puja, offer fruits and sweets to the Saptarishis. Chant the mantras of the Saptarishis and finally apologize for your mistakes. After this, distribute the Prasad among all the people and take the blessings of the elders.
