Rajasthan News: Raisen Collector Arvind Dubey reached Jamwant Cave near Jamgarh village of Bareilly subdivision, about 120 km from the district headquarters Raisen, by climbing about 1500 meters from the ground level among trees and random stones. Officers of many departments including SDM Santosh Mudgal were also with him.
According to religious scriptures, this is the place where Shri Krishna and Jamwant fought for 27 days for the Syamantaka Mani. Collector Dubey also visited village Bhagdei. Here he observed the thousands of years old Khajuraho style temple and the ancient statues and priceless heritage scattered here. He explored the possibilities here from the point of view of archeology and tourism and described this place as picturesque and suitable for a grand event at the government level. This was the first time when a collector reached Jamwant's cave.
A different side of Collector Arvind Dubey was seen at the cave. Officials and villagers were surprised by his nature of being a scholar of history and religious texts. Collector Arvind Dubey said that Lord Shri Krishna has had a very close relationship with the holy land of Madhya Pradesh. On one hand, he received education in the Sandipani Ashram of Ujjain, on the other hand, Shri Krishna fought a battle with the great warrior Jamvant in the Vindhyachal mountain range and the sacred region of Mother Narmada, Jamgarh.
Collector Arvind Dubey said that the extremely powerful and intelligent Jamwant is called Rikshraj in the local language. Jamwant was a part of Shri Ram's army along with monkey king Sugriva. Jamwant knew who Hanuman ji was and how capable he was. Jamwant himself was long-lived, who lived for three great ages - Satyayug, Treta and Dwapar. In Dwapar, he fought a war with Shri Krishna in Jamgarh, a famous mythological and archaeological site in Raisen district of present-day Madhya Pradesh.
Raisen Collector told this thing.
He told that in Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran and Shri Devi Mahapuran, there is mention of the war between Shri Krishna and Jamvant for Syamantaka Mani. In Valmiki Ramayana, there is a detailed mention of Jamvant's strength, intelligence and manliness. Similarly, there is a mention of Jamvant ji in the religious text 'Prem Sagar' which depicts the deeds of Shri Krishna. Jamvant was also known by the names Jamvant, Jamuvan (Jambavan), Jamvant, Jambavan, Sambuvan etc.
From the point of view of division of eras, the Ramayana period came in Treta Yuga, by then Jamvant had become old. He did not have as much strength as he had in his youth. He himself said this. When lakhs of monkeys and bears were sent in different directions in search of mother Sita, Jamvant was also in the group going towards south along with Hanuman, Angad, Naal and Neel. Where Jamvant himself reminded Hanuman ji of his strength and power. Many demons of Ravana were also killed in the war.
Collector Arvind Dubey said that we are familiar with the victory saga of Shri Ram in the Ramayana period of Treta Yuga. After that, in the next era i.e. Dwapar Yuga, he incarnated in the form of Lord Krishna. Then Jamvant had a fight with Shri Krishna over the Syamantaka Mani. The war between the two continued for 27 days in Jamvant Cave in Jamgarh. Jamvant lost only to Krishna in his life, then he believed that he was God (Ram). After that Jamvant got his daughter Jamvanti married to Shri Krishna. In this way, Jamvant ji gave the privilege of making this area the in-laws' house of Lord Shri Krishna.
Collector Arvind Dubey said that Jamwant ji was a great devotee of Lord Shri Ram and he had immense affection for Shri Ram in his heart but during the Dwapar era, Jamwant ji made a grave mistake and unknowingly he fought with Lord Shri Ram's incarnation Shri Krishna. According to the description described in the scriptures, Jamwant ji was the master of immense strength. During the war between Ravana and Shri Ram, Jamwant ji used to defeat 100 warriors alone. When the war ended, Jamwant ji, overcome by ego, started boasting of his strength in front of Lord Shri Ram. Lord Shri Ram immediately sensed the pride growing in his mind and to remove this pride of his, Shri Ram assured him that he would come in the Dwapar era in the form of Shri Krishna and fight with him.
God kept his promise.
He told that as per his promise, Shri Ram met Jamwant in Dwapar Yuga and he also fought with him. It happened that Shri Krishna was accused of stealing the Syamantaka Mani, after which to prove himself innocent, Shri Krishna reached a cave between Narmada and Vindhyachal mountain ranges where Jamwant ji lived with his daughter. Jamwant ji had that Mani which Shri Krishna was searching for. Seeing Shri Krishna coming to his residence, Jamwant ji became furious and he started fighting with Shri Krishna. When Jamwant ji realized that the person with whom he was fighting was not an ordinary human, he stopped the war and asked Shri Krishna to come in his real form, after which Shri Krishna appeared to him in his Ram avatar. Jamwant ji became very emotional after seeing his Lord Shri Ram.
Shri Krishna got married to Jamwanti
Arvind Dubey told that apologizing for his mistake, Jamwant ji proposed marriage of his daughter Jamwanti to Shri Krishna, after which Shri Krishna accepted Jamwanti ji as his wife. In this way, Jamwant ji apologized, married his daughter to Shri Krishna and also returned the gem to Shri Krishna.
