Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi is on a three-day visit to Pakistan. He visited Pakistan's eastern city Lahore and southern city Karachi on Tuesday amid tight security. Raisi started his three-day visit to Pakistan on Monday (April 22) amid tight security in Pakistan's capital Islamabad.

According to the agency, the government of Pakistan declared a public holiday in Lahore and Karachi on Tuesday as traffic on major roads was stopped due to security reasons ahead of the Iranian President's visit. 

Meeting with Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz

In Lahore, Raisi visited the mausoleum of Pakistan's national poet Allama Mohammad Iqbal, where a group felicitated him. He offered flowers and prayed on Iqbal's grave. 

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz held a meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Lahore. He talked about increasing cultural exchange and promoting people-to-people contacts. After this, Raisi went to the tomb of Pakistan's founder Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi, where he prayed. 

A press release said Raisi was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Governor of Sindh province. Let us tell you that Ibrahim Raisi will stay in Pakistan till Wednesday (April 24).
