UP Flood: The effect of rain in many parts of the country is now being seen in the Sangam city of Prayagraj. In Prayagraj, both the rivers Ganga and Yamuna are once again in spate. The water level of both the rivers is once again rising rapidly. In Sangam city, Ganga is rising at a speed of five centimeters per hour and Yamuna at a speed of thirteen centimeters per hour. The rising water level of the rivers has created panic among the people living in the low-lying areas. They have once again started looking for a safe place.

However, despite the rising water level of the rivers, flood water has not yet entered the residential areas. After the rise in the water level of the rivers, the administration has once again declared an alert. Flood relief posts have been activated again. People are taking bath in the Ganga on the steps of the ghat. The roads leading to Sangam have been submerged in flood water. Due to the rapid rise in the water level of the rivers, the operation of boats has been completely banned.

The water will decrease in two to three days

However, it is a matter of relief that experts say that this process of rising water level will last only for two to three days. After that the water will start decreasing again. In Prayagraj, both the Ganga and Yamuna rivers are currently four meters below the danger mark. After the water level of the rivers increased, the pilgrim priests and ghatis sitting on the Sangam and other ghats have come up after packing their belongings.

The evening aarti performed near Sangam is now being performed symbolically on the road. The flood water has entered the temple of reclining Hanuman Ji situated on the banks of Sangam and many monasteries and ashrams situated on the banks of the river. This is the second time this year that the water of Ganga has entered the Hanuman temple. After the continuous rise in the water level, the doors of Hanuman temple have been closed for devotees.
