The country's veteran director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's masterpiece movie Padmaavat is going to return to theaters once again. Released in the year 2018, this film created havoc at the box office. Along with great earnings, the characters of the actors also became immortal forever.
Deepika Padukone was liked a lot in the role of Rani Padmavati. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh was very popular in the negative role of Sultan Alauddin Khilji. Shahid Kapoor played the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh in the film. Many actors like Aditi Rao Hydari, Anupriya Goenka and Raza Murad made the public happy with their performance in the film.
Deepika-Ranveer were not the first choice of the makers!
If you watch Padmavat , you will not be upset with the casting but you might not know that Deepika for the role of Padmavati and Ranveer for the role of Khilji were not the first choice of the makers. Yes, this casting would have been completely reversed if Bhansali's two favorite stars had said yes to this film. One actress did not do this film because of her ex-boyfriend.
Makers wanted to cast Aishwarya and Salman in Padmaavat
Bhansali's on-screen favourite couple was Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. After the superhit film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Bhansali wanted to see Salman and Aishwarya together on the silver screen once again, but this never happened due to the two breaking up on a bad note. After the breakup, Aishwarya had announced that she would never share the screen with Salman.
Why did Aishwarya reject Padmaavat?
Aishwarya Rai agreed to do Padmaavat, but was not happy with the casting. Once in an interview to Spotboy, the actress had said about rejecting Padmaavat-
Salman did not agree to Aishwarya's condition
It is said that Aishwarya Rai had agreed to work with Salman, but her condition was that she should not have any scene with the actor in the film. When Salman came to know about this, he did not agree to the condition because he wanted to share the screen with Aishwarya. Ultimately both of them backed out from the film. Then Bhansali cast Deepika and Ranveer.
Currently, Padmaavat is being re-released in theatres. Earlier it was to be released in theatres on 24 January, but now it will come on the big screen on 6 February.
