New York: Ron Somers, a prominent American executive and expert on India-US relations, has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will win the 2024 general elections with the biggest majority ever in the history of India.Addressing a special event 'Developed India@2047' organized by the Consulate General of India, New York, Somers, Founder and CEO of India First Group and former President of US-India Business Council (USIBC), said that he respects them for organizing a country of 140 crore population, 97 crore voters voting in the seven-phase electoral process, keeping it clean and completely legitimate and no one doubting the authenticity of the results.

Why we can't have open and fair elections in America

Referring to the magnitude of the Indian elections, he said, "It really makes one wonder why we are not able to have open and fair elections in the US. It is really quite surprising that when you can do it at that level in India, why are we facing a challenge here."

Indian election process a great legacy

He said that one of the great legacies that India will leave for 2047 is the ongoing Indian election process that we are all watching and monitoring. 97 crore people are voting for their pride, their dignity and the future greatness of the country. What is happening in India right now is really quite extraordinary. So if there is any light, he hopes that India can be a lighthouse in the future decades of democracy.

The work of bringing India into 2047 mode continues

Somers said that from former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao to Prime Minister Modi, the policy of reform and the work of bringing India into the 2047 mode has continued and the country has received unanimous support in moving forward on the path of development. Indian Consul General Binay Srikant Pradhan said that 'Developed India by 2047' is the vision of Prime Minister Modi.

Developed India by 2047 is a mission: Modi

In the words of the Prime Minister, 'Developed India by 2047' is a mission that requires not just ambition but a multi-pronged strategy encompassing economic growth, strong governance reforms, use of clean energy and scientific advancement. He said, 'This action plan will involve a whole-of-government approach that will involve extensive consultations and views with state governments, academia, civil society and the youth of India.'
