Kasargod (Kerala). In Kasargod, Kerala, two young men were driving a car to the hospital using Google Maps. But Google Maps took them to the river while showing them the way. Before they could understand anything, they were badly trapped in the strong current of the river. The flow of water in the river was very fast.
Both the youths were lucky that after the car fell into the river, it got stuck in a tree. After which both of them were rescued. The youth told that he got a notification on Google Map to go on a narrow road. When he reached there with the car, it was a bridge built on the river. There was no wall on either side of it. Since it was very dark, he could not see anything.
Google Map did not show the route to the new bridge
Abdul Rasheed and Thasreef, residents of Kanhangad, met with an accident at Pallanchi near Kuttikole, about 30 km from Kasargod town on Thursday morning. The two were heading towards Uppinangadi in Dakshina Kannada with the help of Google Maps navigation. When they reached an old bridge with the help of Google Maps, they reached there which did not have railings. However, there was a new bridge to cross the river which had railings. But Google Maps did not navigate to that new bridge.
Fire brigade personnel rescued the youth
When both of them reached the old bridge, it was dark and it was raining heavily. Due to which the car fell into the overflowing river. Although the car was washed away, both of them somehow came out of the windscreen of the car door and stood up holding the branches of the tree. They informed their relatives about this on mobile phone. After this, the fire brigade personnel rescued them.
