New Delhi. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda on Monday launched the national campaign 'Stop Diarrhoea' to prevent diarrhoea in children. Under this, the aim is to bring the deaths due to diarrhoea in children below five years of age to zero level.

Under this campaign which will be conducted in two phases till 31st August, ASHA and Anganwadi workers will go door to door and give ORS solution and zinc tablets to children. Apart from this, awareness will be created among people about prevention of diarrhea through publicity.

The goal is to reduce deaths due to diarrhea to zero

The government has coined the slogan for the campaign, 'Take care of diarrhea prevention, cleanliness and ORS'. Nadda said that India became the first country to start vaccination against rotavirus in 2014 and now through this campaign, it will bring the deaths of children due to diarrhea to zero.

Schemes like Bharat Abhiyan were also mentioned

In this connection, he also mentioned the central schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission and Ayushman Bharat Arogya Mandir Network and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Ministers of State for Health Anupriya Patel and Pratap Rao Jadhav and top officials of the ministry and various agencies were present on this occasion.
