News Topical, Digital Desk : On the letter written by TDP to the Election Commission regarding Special Voter Intensive Revision (SIR), Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain made a big claim and said that BJP is trying to win elections in Bihar by removing people from the voter list. During the Maharashtra elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the elections by suddenly adding many voters to the list. Now it is trying to win elections in Bihar by removing people from the voter list.

‘We believe it should not be implemented’

He said that now as the SIR rules will be followed, the most affected will be the Dalits, minorities, farmers and people from backward classes. In this monsoon season, Bihar is flooded, in such a situation who will be able to reach with the documents. He said that after Bihar, the Election Commission will run a special intensive revision campaign in other states as well. All the parties are opposing it, so we believe that it should not be implemented.

The Congress leader further said that many parties have filed a petition in the Supreme Court. This is to be heard again on July 28. This is going to create problems for all parties except BJP.

What did he say on the demand for giving full statehood status to Jammu and Kashmir?

On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and leader Rahul Gandhi have written a letter to PM Modi demanding full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. Reacting to this, Naseer Hussain said that this is the first time in the country that a state has been demoted and given the status of a Union Territory. Earlier, Union Territories were given the status of states, but for the last five years, Jammu and Kashmir has been given the status of a Union Territory. There were no elections, other elected governors used to run this state. Now provision for elections has been made. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has said many times that Jammu and Kashmir will be given the status of a full state. In such a situation, we demand that Jammu and Kashmir be given the status of a full state in the monsoon session itself.
