Sumi was speaking in broken English and Bengali. When the locals of Khandaghosh approached for help, she revealed her identity. Initially people did not believe her, but some people searched the name she was repeating repeatedly on the Internet, only then she was identified.
Statements started changing during police interrogation
After this, the police was called, but when the police questioned her, she was giving inconsistent answers. It is being told that she first said that she is from Kolkata, but later she said that she came from Bolpur. Currently, she has been sent to a shelter home. The police is currently trying to contact Somi's family, but her friends and relatives have not been traced yet.

Sumi Har Chowdhury has played supporting roles in popular Bengali films like 'Dwitiya Purush' and 'Khashi Katha: A Goat Saga' starring Naseeruddin Shah.
