New Delhi: After the bilateral talks between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia, the disengagement of troops on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) has been completed. Now the Indian Army has started its verification on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Indian soldiers are doing verification patrol in Depsang, the second point of deadlock with China. The Ministry of External Affairs gave this information on Saturday. Let us tell you that patrolling has resumed in Demchok on Friday, a day after the withdrawal of Indian and Chinese troops from two deadlock points (Demchok and Depsang) in eastern Ladakh.

Responding to a question at a weekly press conference, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that after the agreement with China on the withdrawal of troops, verification patrols have been started on mutually agreed terms in Demchok and Depsang. It is being seen where and how much disengagement has taken place. Indian and Chinese soldiers exchanged sweets at several points on the LAC on the occasion of Diwali on Thursday, a day after the withdrawal of troops from two confrontation points was completed. Sources had earlier said that the deployment of troops and patrolling is likely to be done as per the situation before April 2020.

Both countries withdrew troops from the place of conflict

After bilateral talks between India and China, both the countries have withdrawn their troops from the places of conflict. Therefore, to verify this, the soldiers of India and China are patrolling the border together. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said in Delhi on 21 October that after talks going on for the last several weeks, an agreement has been finalized between India and China, which will resolve the deadlock arising from the military clash of 2020. The consensus reached between the two countries to patrol the LAC in eastern Ladakh and withdraw troops was seen as a major breakthrough towards ending the deadlock that had been going on for more than four years. After the fierce clash in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, the deadlock on the LAC in eastern Ladakh continued and India-China relations had reached a low level.
