Due to the efforts of the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh, the government hospitals of the state have now started providing facilities like private hospitals. As a result, Lucknow's Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) Community Health Center (CHC) has received the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate. This is the first CHC in the state to receive this honor. Here now patients are getting better treatment, cleanliness, behavior and medicines for free.

Women of the village are also getting better medical facilities now.
Rabiya Khatoon, a resident of Bargadi village, came to BKT CHC for her child's checkup. She said, "Earlier we had to go to the city, now everything is available here - doctors, tests, medicines, even operation facilities." Ramsanehi of Mal block says, "Earlier we had to go to the city even for minor diseases. Now treatment is done here and medicines are also available." Every day 350 to 500 patients come here for treatment in OPD.

These major facilities are available in BKT CHC. Facilities like
24-hour emergency service, blood bank, Kangaroo Mother Care Unit (KMC), online lab reports, X-rays, consultation with doctors, pediatricians and gynecologists, surgeons and daily vaccination (except Sundays) are available in BKT CHC. There is a 30-bed hospital here, which is now being expanded to 50 beds. So far in 2024, 57 blood transfusions, 550 X-rays and 120 to 150 deliveries are taking place every month, including 10 to 12 cesarean operations.

Government's target is to give NQAS certification to 50% of hospitals

Mission Director of National Health Mission, Dr. Pinky Jovel said that under the leadership of CM Yogi, a campaign is being run to provide quality and affordable health facilities across the state. So far, 507 government health units have been certified as NQAS. Good work has been done in Ayodhya and Prayagraj divisions. Now similar work is planned in Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly and Saharanpur.

What is NQAS certification?
NQAS i.e. National Quality Assurance Standard is a scheme of the Government of India, under which this certificate is given to government hospitals if they meet the standards set in cleanliness, behavior with patients, care of pregnant women and newborns, adolescent health, family planning and management of diseases.

People's trust increased.
BKT CHC Superintendent Dr. JP Singh said that now more than 80 percent of the hospital beds are occupied. People's trust has increased so much that despite the 100-bed Ramsagar Mishra Hospital nearby, patients prefer to come here for OPD. 15 to 20 people are also taking advantage of the telemedicine facility every day.

Bakshi Ka Talab CHC has become an example today. The government plans to build similar 'model health centres' across the state so that people in villages can also get good and affordable health services. This change is giving a new direction to the health system of the state.
