News Topical, Digital Desk : Uttar Pradesh politics was rocked on Friday (February 13) when a special team of the Lucknow Special Task Force (STF) detained Samajwadi Party national spokesperson Manoj Yadav. Yadav had reportedly been missing for the past two days, and the party had expressed concern about his whereabouts.
According to reports, the STF apprehended Manoj Yadav while he was passing through the Safdarganj area with some of his associates. Immediately after his arrest, the team took him to the Baragaon Community Health Center, where he underwent a mandatory medical examination. They then took him to Lucknow under tight security. It is reported that he will be produced in the Barabanki court shortly.
Case registered under serious sections
According to a press note from the Barabanki police, a case was registered on February 11th at the Safdarganj police station on charges of threatening and using casteist slurs. Today, Friday (February 13th), the Safdarganj police arrested Manoj from Barabanki. It is reported that the Special Task Force (STF) handed him over to the Safdarganj police after apprehending him.
SP had earlier expressed concern
Earlier, the Samajwadi Party had posted on social media that Samajwadi Party TV panelist Manoj Yadav was missing. This is a deeply concerning and serious matter. The police should take the matter seriously and immediately intensify the search. He should be prevented from facing any untoward incident.
Rajkumar Bhati raised questions
Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajkumar Bhati posted on Instagram demanding his release regarding this entire matter. He wrote, "The unethical arrest and disappearance of Manoj Yadav by the UP Police is horrific and evidence of a BJP conspiracy against the workers and leaders of the main opposition party, the Samajwadi Party. How can Chief Minister Adityanath claim democracy in UP when he is dismantling democracy and expanding dictatorship, crime, and police brutality? Manoj Yadav should be released immediately."
