Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made a big announcement on Tuesday and said that devotees coming on the winter journey to Char Dhams will be given a 25 percent discount on rent on staying in Garhwal Mandal Development Corporation (GMVN) hotels. Chief Minister Dhami directed the officials to ensure all necessary arrangements for winter travel destinations and promote the promotion of the journey on a large scale.

Discount will be given in GMVN hotels

The Chief Minister informed about the 25% discount given in GMVN hotels for pilgrims visiting the winter stay sites of the four Dhams - Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. Along with this, he also emphasized on the development of major places around the winter travel stay sites, which include the places of Panch Badri and Panch Kedar.

In Uttarakhand, the doors of the Char Dhams are closed every year in October-November and the deities are taken to their winter residences. From Gangotri temple, Maa Ganga's palanquin is taken to Mukhaba, from Yamunotri temple, Maa Yamuna is taken to Kharsali, Lord Kedarnath is taken to Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath, and Lord Badrinath is taken to Narsingh temple in Joshimath.

The aim is to provide better facilities

Chief Minister Dhami started the winter journey of Chardham from Omkareshwar temple on Sunday. This year also, the state government has taken this step with the aim of providing better facilities to the devotees for the winter journey, so that the devotees can stay in a more convenient and economical way during the journey.
