Arshad's statement was a shock - Priyadarshan

Priyadarshan is one of Hindi cinema's most prolific filmmakers. He is known as the father of cult classic comedy films. Hulchul was one of those films. Recently, Arshad Warsi gave an interview to India Today, a Hindi website, in which he described his experience working on Hulchul as unpleasant. Priyadarshan has now spoken openly about this matter in his latest interview with Mid Day, stating:

“When I read about what he said, I was very upset. I may be mistaken and it may have been misinterpreted. But if he did complain, it's really shocking.”

When our film (Halchal) was a box office success, he called me and said, "Priyan sir, I'm very happy that I'm receiving praise for my work. I'm saddened and disturbed by Arshad's allegations. It's a shock to me." Priyadarshan's response to Arshad Warsi's statement about Halchal is as follows.

What was Arshad Warsi's statement?

In fact, Arshad Warsi said in his statement, "When I was offered the film Hulchul, I was told that my character would be like Akshay Kumar's in Hera Pheri. I was very excited and agreed to do the film. But when the movie was made, I realized that I had been sidelined, which was beyond my expectations. I don't blame the director for this; perhaps he was unaware of it."
