The term loan given by the Finance Corporation to the Minority Welfare Department in 1997-98 will be recovered from the borrowers. This loan was given to small and middle-class minority families in Firozabad for business 28 years ago. According to the department's data, under this term loan scheme, loans ranging from Rs 28,000 to Rs 1 lakh were given to 249 Muslim families of Firozabad, for the recovery of which the department has now issued notices. 

According to Firozabad Minority Welfare Department, during 1997, 249 Muslim families were given term loans under the Finance Corporation scheme for their self-employment, which were to be repaid on time. But these families did not repay the loan taken for business to the department. After 28 years, the department is issuing notices for recovery of this loan.

What did the official say?
According to the department, 28 years ago in 1997-98, an amount of about 1 crore rupees was allocated under this scheme. After 28 years of interest, this amount has become 5 crore rupees, which has to be recovered from the borrowers. Under this scheme, a person who takes a loan of 28,000 has to return about 1.5 lakh rupees including Vikas. After getting instructions from the government, the Minority Welfare Department has started searching for the defaulters who took loans for business.

According to Minority Welfare Officer Nidhi Singh, notices are being sent to 249 defaulters. There are some people to whom notices have been sent. But the notices have not reached their addresses. The notices have been returned. Efforts are being made to reach all of them through departmental people for loan recovery, so that the loan given by the department can be recovered.
