The announcement of the train became the reason for the stampede
At New Delhi Railway Station, trains to Prayagraj were on different platforms and two trains were late. Due to this, there was a huge crowd on the platform and foot over bridge. Suddenly people complained of suffocation and started fainting while during this time 18 people died due to stampede. 11 women are being reported among the dead.
