
CM Yogi Kanya Pujan: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed Kanya Pujan on the ninth day of Chaitra (Vasantik) Navratri today on Sunday as per the tradition of Gorakshapeeth. In the Kanya Pujan program organized in the Anna Kshetra of Gorakhnath temple as part of the rituals of the ninth day, CM Yogi Adityanath washed the feet of nine Durga Swaroopa virgin girls, worshipped them according to the rituals, draped a dupatta on them, performed aarti, fed them with devotion and took their blessings by giving dakshina. The Chief Minister also performed Batuk Pujan while following the tradition.
In the rituals of the Navami Tithi of Chaitra Navratri, CM Yogi and Gorakshapeethadhiswar first washed the feet of the virgin girls. They applied tilak of roli, sandalwood, akshat etc. on their foreheads. They were anointed with Durva, garlanded. They were draped with a chunari and given dakshina and took blessings. They also performed aarti of all the virgin girls and boys in the food area with devotion. After the worship, Yogi served fresh food cooked in the kitchen of the temple to these girls with his own hands. Apart from the girls, the boys who arrived in large numbers were also fed with devotion and given gifts and dakshina.
Apart from CM Yogi,
many saints and people associated with the temple management including Jagadguru Swami Santosh Das who came from Kashi, Gorakhnath temple's head priest Yogi Kamalnath were present during the puja. Before the Kanya Pujan, in the morning worship session, Maa Siddhidatri was worshipped with rituals in the Shaktipeeth of the temple. Here, CM Yogi Adityanath wished the people of the country and the state on Ram Navami through the social media platform X.
CM wrote on the post, "In the rich tradition of India's Sanatan Dharma, the feeling of reverence and respect for the 'Matri Shakti' is so deep, we all get to see its best form in the form of Vasantik Navratri and Sharadiya Navratri. I bow at the feet of Jagatjanani Maa Bhagwati and hearty congratulations to the people of the state on 'Shri Ram Navami'."
