New Delhi. An IndiGo flight from Chennai to Mumbai received a bomb threat message. The flight landed safely in Mumbai at around 10:30 pm. IndiGo said in its statement that all the passengers were safely evacuated from the plane.

IndiGo said, 'IndiGo flight 6E 5149 from Chennai to Mumbai received a bomb threat. On landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay. All passengers have disembarked safely. We are working with security agencies and after all security checks are completed, the aircraft will be landed back in the terminal area.'

Bomb threat received via email 

Security was beefed up at the Vadodara airport in Gujarat and Patna airport in Bihar on Tuesday after airport authorities received bomb threat emails. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters in Mumbai received a bomb threat email, police said yesterday. According to the police, an unidentified person has "threatened to blow up" the headquarters.

More than 50 hospitals in Mumbai also received bomb threats

Earlier on Tuesday, more than 50 hospitals in Mumbai had also received bomb threat mails. According to Mumbai Police, the sender had claimed that bombs have been placed under the beds and in the bathrooms of the hospitals. The hospitals that have received the threatening mail include Jaslok Hospital, Raheja Hospital, Seven Hills Hospital, Kohinoor Hospital, KEM Hospital, JJ Hospital and St. George Hospital in Mumbai.

41 airports in the country received bomb threats on Tuesday 

Let us tell you that on Tuesday, 41 airports of the country received bomb threat emails. After investigation by security agencies, each of them was declared a rumour. Official sources said that the airports started contingency measures after receiving the bomb threat, conducted investigations and searched the terminals following the recommendations of the concerned Bomb Threat Assessment Committee.
