A female trader was found dead in her home
According to reports, S Jeeva was found dead at her home a few days ago. An 11-page note was found near her. In this note, she had accused an officer of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of harassing her.
Let us inform you that S Jeeva was a businessman and ran a wood shop in Bengaluru. Last Friday (22 November), her body was found lying in a room of her house. An 11-page note was also recovered from near her body. Based on this, her sister S Sangeeta has lodged a complaint with the police. According to this complaint, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kanakalakshmi has been held responsible for S Jeeva's death.
S Jeeva was accused in Bhovi Vikas Nigam scam
It is noteworthy that S Jeeva was one of the accused in the Karnataka Bhovi Vikas Nigam scam. It involved the misuse of funds meant for lending to members of the Bhovi community under a job scheme. Investigation is still underway in this entire case. The responsibility of investigating the case was handed over to the CID.
The Karnataka High Court had allowed the CID to question S Jeeva through video conferencing between November 14 and 23. However, it is alleged that the CID officials asked him to appear in person. On November 14, S Jeeva appeared at the CID office.
Jeeva appeared before the CID
It is alleged that when Jeeva appeared in the CID office, he was harassed. S Jeeva's clothes were removed and he was asked if he had cyanide. According to the note recovered near S Jeeva's body, the police officer demanded a bribe of Rs 25 lakh from Jeeva and refused to accept the documents submitted by him.
This harassment by the officers reportedly continued for a few days. According to the FIR filed by S Jeeva's sister, the police officer went to meet S Jeeva at his shop and humiliated him in front of his employees.
