Kanpur.  The Anti-Corruption Organization has arrested a Lekhpal from Amouli village of Ghatampur while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000. The Lekhpal was demanding bribe in the name of mutation of a plot. A case has been registered in Hanumant Vihar. The accused Lekhpal will be presented in court on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the anti-corruption team arrested Pankaj Kumar, a Lekhpal posted in Sargawan of Ghatampur block, in Amouli while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

A bribe of 50 thousand was demanded for Dakhil Kharij

Anti-corruption inspector Jata Shankar Singh said that Mohammad Raza, a resident of Bhadarsa village in Ghatampur, had complained that he had bought a plot near Amouli village. The local accountant Pankaj Kumar had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from him for the mutation of the plot.

On the instructions of Anti Corruption, Raja called Pankaj near the plot to give him the money. As soon as the accountant took the bribe notes, the Anti Corruption team caught him red handed. His hands turned red even in the litmus test. According to the inspector, a case has been registered against the accused accountant in Hanumant Vihar police station under sections related to the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Seventh case caught this year

The anti-corruption team is showing great speed this year. So far, the department has arrested nine government employees in seven cases and sent them to jail.
