Sultanpur Encounter: Another accused involved in the Sultanpur robbery in Unnao has been killed in an encounter. Accused Anuj Pratap Singh was also involved in the robbery at Bharat Jewelers shop. The police had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh on him. On Monday (23 September 2024) morning, the miscreant had an encounter with the STF in Kuluhagarha of Achalganj police station area. He was shot in retaliation. 

Anuj Pratap Singh was a resident of Amethi in UP. Anuj was also one of the five accused who entered Bharat Jewelers shop during the robbery, his picture was also seen in the CCTV camera installed in the shop. He had an encounter with the police early this morning. The accused opened fire as soon as he saw the police, in retaliation, he was injured by the police bullet. 

Accused killed in police encounter
Police immediately took Anuj Pratap to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Giving information about this, DGP Prashant Kumar said that on 23 September 2024, an encounter took place between the accused related to the robbery at Bharat Jewelers shop in Sultanpur and the STF Lucknow team in Achalganj Unnao area. In which one miscreant was injured and the other managed to escape taking advantage of the opportunity. 

 

He said that the injured criminal has been identified as Anuj Pratap Singh son of Dharamraj Singh resident of village Janapur police station Mohanganj district Amethi. The injured criminal was sent to the government hospital through 108 ambulance for first aid from where he was referred to the district hospital after first aid. The accused was declared dead by the doctors in the district hospital. 

The police has taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Further legal action is being taken. Last Friday, the police also recovered the looted goods. On the orders of the court, the police returned 15 kg silver and 2 kg gold to the shop owner.
