Greater Noida: Greater Noida Authority has started the process of online registration of pets (dogs, cats etc.) in the city. Pet owners can register their animals on the Mitra app. No fee will be charged for registration.
Three months have been given for registration of animals, after which a fine of Rs 2,000 will be imposed. The process of online registration has been started by the authority two days ago.
Last week, the company developing the portal presented the registration to the officials. After making some changes, it has been launched. Dainik Jagran was the first to inform the residents about this.
People were demanding for a long time
Residents had been demanding for a long time to register pets. CEO of Greater Noida Authority NG Ravi Kumar had directed the Public Health Department to start registration of pets (dogs, cats etc.) soon.
Under the supervision of the Authority's ACEO Srilakshmi VS, the Public Health Department team has completed all the procedures for pet registration and started this facility on the Authority's Mitra App.
You can register for free
On the instructions of the CEO, registration has been kept free for now. ACEO Srilakshmi VS said that there will be two benefits from registration of pets. First, Greater Noida Authority will have the data of pets, which will help in making any kind of policy.
Secondly, the pets will be vaccinated, as vaccination is mandatory for registration. In such a situation, if a pet animal bites a person, he will not be at risk of getting a major disease. CEO NG Ravi Kumar has appealed to all citizens who keep pets to get registered soon.
