Rajinikanth is playing the lead role in the most anticipated movie Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj   . The release of this film is eagerly awaited and the actor is leaving no stone unturned in its promotion. Recently, he has revealed that he has been a coolie in real life too.

Rajinikanth was actually a coolie 

Before entering the film world, Rajinikanth did many odd jobs to make a living. At the pre-release event of Coolie, the actor shared an anecdote about his early days. He told that when he used to be a coolie, people used to shout at him. Once he even cried badly.

Rajinikanth was in tears

Rajinikanth  said, “When I was a porter, I was shouted at many times. One day a man gave me two rupees and asked me to load his luggage in a tempo. His voice sounded familiar to me. I realised he was my college friend. I had made fun of him a lot. He said to me, 'What a drama you have created.' For the first time in my life, I broke down and cried.”

When will Coolie be released?

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action thriller Coolie stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. The film will be released in theaters on 14 August 2025. Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani starrer movie War 2 is also releasing on the same day. Now it remains to be seen how their films perform after clashing with each other.
