News Topical, Digital Desk : The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has filed a charge sheet in the court in the Dr. Gauri Palve suicide case, which has become a hot topic in Maharashtra politics. The charge sheet names Minister Pankaja Munde's former PA, Anant Garje, as the main accused. The investigation has revealed that Anant not only harassed his wife but also threatened to tarnish her social image, driving her to the brink of death.
Diary and Laptop: The Dark Truth of 2025!
During the investigation, the SIT recovered some personal belongings of the accused and the deceased from the crime scene, which have proved to be a key factor in the case. Police recovered a black diary, in which Dr. Gauri had written about her ordeal and mental stress. Additionally, a Samsung laptop from December 2024 model year was seized, containing a wealth of digital evidence.
The investigation's most sensational revelation concerned a voice recording. On November 22, 2025, the day of the incident, Anant deliberately recorded a fight between himself and Gauri. In the recording, he can be heard repeatedly telling Gauri to "die."
Anant threatened Gauri that he would disseminate the audio clips to society and relatives, tarnishing her image. Under this fear and mental pressure, Dr. Gauri took the extreme step of suicide.
Before her death, Dr. Gauri had sent 17 voice clips to her friend Dr. Pranita Aswale, in which she had narrated the entire story of the physical and mental torture being inflicted by Anant.
CCTV and the mystery of the salon: a few hours before death
The SIT chargesheet mentions the afternoon of November 22, 2025. According to CCTV footage, Dr. Gauri entered the Be-Leaf Salon at 3:02 PM and left at 3:19 PM. The salon's register did not have an entry for that date (the last entry was from November 9), which raised police suspicions. However, technical investigations and cameras from a nearby skin specialist clinic confirmed her presence.
Dr. Gauri's post-mortem report states her time of death to be 12–24 hours before the post-mortem. The cause of death is listed as "asphyxia following hanging," which the SIT has classified as an "unnatural death."
They got a clean chit, Anant is under pressure
In a major decision, the SIT, following its investigation, found substantial evidence against Anant Garje (husband) and named him as the main accused. Furthermore, Sheetal Andhale (sister-in-law) and Ajay Garje (brother-in-law) were cleared of the charge sheet due to a lack of sufficient evidence of harassment against them.
The SIT has concluded in the charge sheet that Anant Garje not only betrayed her by concealing his earlier relationship but also forced Dr. Gauri to commit suicide by repeatedly saying "you die" and blackmailing her through audio clips.
