Lebanon Blast Eight people were killed and 2750 were injured in the serial pager explosion that took place in Lebanon on Tuesday. Security sources said that this blast took place in the pagers of Hezbollah fighters. They used to communicate with each other through these pagers. Someone hacked these pagers and blew them up. Hezbollah fighters were also killed in this blast. Many doctors and the Iranian ambassador were also injured in this blast. Many videos of the pager blasts are also going viral on social media.
Israel blamed for the blast
Lebanon's Information Minister Ziad Makri condemned the pager blasts as an "Israeli attack". Hezbollah also blamed Israel for the pager blasts and said a strong response would be given when the time comes. The Israeli military declined to comment on Reuters' inquiries about the blasts.
Video of pager blast went viral
Horrifying pictures of the serial pager blasts in Lebanon have also surfaced. In which it can be clearly seen how people's pagers suddenly started exploding while working. The video of the pager blast that has surfaced appears to be some CCTV footage. In which the pagers kept in a bag in a shop suddenly exploded. However, Dainik Jagran does not confirm this video.
According to Al Jazeera, Lebanon's Health Minister Firas Abiad said that 200 people are in critical condition due to the blast in the pagers. Many videos are rapidly going viral on social media, showing the explosion, the situation after it and the chaos in Lebanon's hospitals.
Biggest security breach
A Hezbollah official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the pager explosions were the biggest security breach suffered by the group in nearly a year of conflict with Israel. Hezbollah confirmed in a statement that at least three people had been killed, including two of its fighters. The cause of the explosions is being investigated. Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has been detained.
