News Topical, Digital Desk : A lover madly in one-sided love, in order to kill the woman's husband, packed a bomb in the home theater speaker and sent it in a parcel. The incident took place in Gandai police station of KCG district. Seven people have been arrested in the case. The mastermind is Vinay Verma.

With the intention of killing his ex-girlfriend's husband, the accused Vinay made a parcel bomb by hiding two kilograms of gunpowder inside a home theatre speaker and sent it to Afsar Khan. He also pasted a fake sticker of Indian Post on the parcel so that no one gets a clue.

The accused left the parcel with Afsar Khan along with his friend. After opening the parcel, a speaker was found which looked new but was heavy. Afsar got suspicious because the speaker was heavy and the power pin was broken.

When Afsar, an electrician by profession, carefully opened the parcel, he found a gelatin rod and a detonator connected to wires inside. On Saturday, SP Lakshya Sharma exposed the matter in a press conference.

Bomb disposal squad reached the spot

Afsar informed the police. The police and the bomb disposal squad sealed the area. Investigation revealed that the explosive hidden inside the speaker was designed in such a way that as soon as it was connected to electricity, the current would reach the detonator directly and cause a massive explosion. In case of an explosion, the speaker's casing itself would turn into deadly shrapnel. This entire IED was like a film scene, but the reality was much more dangerous.
