The Israeli army carried out this attack in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis city in Gaza. This is the area which the Israeli army had declared a safe zone when the war started. Thousands of Palestinians have taken refuge here.
Attacked with four missiles
Locals and doctors said four missiles hit a tent camp in al-Mawasi, near Khan Younis, which is full of displaced Palestinians. According to the Gaza Civil Emergency Service, 20 tents caught fire. The Israeli missiles created craters up to nine meters (30 feet) deep. The 65 injured included women and children.
Israel said – terrorists were targeted
The Israeli military said it attacked Hamas militants operating inside a command and control center located inside the humanitarian zone in Khan Younis. Hamas denied Israel's allegations.

Hamas said in a statement: "This is a blatant lie. It aims to justify these heinous crimes. We have denied repeatedly that any of its members are present at civilian gatherings, nor are they using them for military purposes."
