Washington: America is preparing to ban Chinese software in its vehicles. The Biden administration on Monday announced a comprehensive initiative to ban Chinese-developed software in internet-connected cars in the country. The administration has cited national security for this move.

It also said it was aimed at preventing Chinese intelligence agencies from surveilling American citizens or using vehicle electronics to gain access to the US electric grid or other critical infrastructure.

This is considered a big step by the Biden administration towards curbing Chinese products in America. Giving this information to journalists, officials of the Biden administration said that this is a matter of national security, not politics. The Commerce Department has proposed a ban in this regard.

100 percent tariff announced on Chinese electric vehicles

It is very likely that this will become a permanent law before President Joe Biden leaves the White House. Biden will remain in office until January 20 next year. Earlier this year, President Biden announced a 100 percent tariff on Chinese electric vehicles.
