Investigation continues in Dharmasthala case

The aim of this campaign is to focus attention on the issue of justice for the victims by a group of women and to eliminate the deep conspiracy that perpetuates such violence against women. As a result, what was supposed to be truth and accountability has turned into an attempt to bury justice. A copy of the letter signed by 50 female celebrities was shared with some media houses on September 5.

Siddaramaiah rejects demand for probe by anti-terror agency in Dharmasthala case

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday weakened the demand for a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into allegations of multiple murders, rapes and burials at Dharmasthala, saying the state police was already probing the matter through a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

The Chief Minister was responding to questions related to Hindu and Jain saints meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah and demanding an NIA probe into the case. "We have formed the SIT, they are the police. Who is in the NIA? They are also the police," Siddaramaiah told reporters.

The opposition BJP and JD(S) have also demanded an NIA probe, hitting out at the Congress government over its handling of the case. They alleged a conspiracy behind the "smear campaign" against the shrine and the local Hindu temple.
