News Topical, Digital Desk : Congress MP and Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring launched a scathing attack on the central government over the suspension of opposition MPs in Parliament and the potential LPG shortage. He also criticized BJP MP Nishikant Dubey for his comments about Rahul Gandhi. He stated that attempts are being made to suppress the opposition's voice and that elected representatives in Parliament are being treated unfairly.

Nishikant Dubey takes a jibe at Rahul Gandhi

Taking aim at BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, Raja Warring said, "When Nishikant Dubey sees Rahul Gandhi, he gets stomach ache as if he has food poisoning. He sees Rahul Gandhi day and night, morning and evening, while sleeping and waking."

He asked Nishikant, "Why are you so afraid of Rahul Gandhi? Is drinking tea a crime? Did you drink tea inside or on the stairs? When you have kept us out, and it has been twenty days since the session started, then we have been outside for twenty days. Don't you feel even a little ashamed that you tell us that if we want to drink tea, then go to the canteen or go to such and such place? If drinking tea is a crime, then tell us clearly."

Expressed displeasure over suspension from Parliament

He further said, "You will keep an elected public representative, who has to go inside and speak for his people, sitting on the stairs the entire day, just because you are arrogant that you want us to come and fold our hands, touch your feet, only then will you reinstate us. What is our crime? Our only crime is that the Leader of the Opposition was not being allowed to speak, whereas he wanted to discuss the issues of the country. When we said let him speak, we came to the well, raised slogans and you suspended us."

He said that opposition MPs are not school students who should be punished for long periods of time. He said, "It may be a day or two, but we are not students who study in a school. Even there, teachers punish them for a day or two and then let them go."

He further said, "Nishikant Dubey sahab, this house does not belong to anyone's father. This house belongs to all of us. Baba Saheb Ambedkar gave us the right to sit wherever we want, eat wherever we want, but with dignity. We do not sit inside and spew fire from our mouths like you. We express our views and will continue to do so."

Questions raised on LPG shortage

Raja Warring also questioned the government regarding a potential LPG shortage. He said that notices have been issued in many places, causing public anxiety.

He said, "Notices have been issued everywhere, even in universities and hotels. There is an atmosphere of panic everywhere. You tell me what rumours we are spreading. Look, what we say will not have any effect unless there is a shortage of LPG. Even if we try to spread such rumours, why will people believe them when there is actually no shortage?"

Issue also raised regarding notice

Raja Warring said that this discussion has started because of letters sent by the ministry. He said, "Actually, the discussion is about the letters sent by your ministry. Yesterday, ask Rajya Sabha member and owner of Lovely University, whose name is Ashok ji. He received a notice from Bharat Petroleum. However, he said that if this happens, students will again come out on the streets. He was saying that 20,000 to 30,000 students study in Jalandhar, so how will they run the university?"

He said the government should clearly state if LPG is available in sufficient quantities. "We're simply saying that we're seeing signs of the situation that's about to develop," he said. "If such notices are coming, what's there to fear? If you have a cylinder and LPG is available, then there's no problem."
