News Topical, Digital Desk : So far 6 people have died in the stampede at Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar and 25 to 30 people are reported to be injured. A video of this stampede has also surfaced, in which it can be seen that people are stuck at one place and there is screaming and shouting. Due to the large crowd, many people were seen suffocating. Many innocent children were also seen trapped in this crowd. The noise of people can be heard all around and there is no place to get out.
This rumor caused a stampede
Haridwar District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said, "Prima facie it appears that someone spread the rumour that there is current flowing in the wire. We have seen some photographs in which the wires are seen broken. It seems that people have tried to climb the wall by pulling the wire and that is why the stampede happened. Our doctors told that the deaths have happened due to the stampede and not due to electric shock. Further investigation will also be done on this."
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also made a statement in this matter. He said, “In a very unfortunate incident around 9 am today, a stampede broke out due to rumors near the stairs of Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar. 6 people lost their lives. All the injured have been taken to the hospital. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident. It is being ascertained why and how the rumor spread. Action will be taken against whoever is found guilty. All possible help is being given to the injured.”
Videos of this stampede have surfaced, some of which are before the stampede and some are after the stampede. In the video, people are seen running here and there. There is screaming all around. Whoever is getting the chance, he is seen climbing there.
In the video after the stampede, people's belongings, slippers and puja material are seen scattered on the ground. The horror of the stampede can be gauged from this video.
