News Topical, Digital Desk : How religious can a country be? Can a country's entire population be so strongly devoted to religion? To answer this question, a global survey was conducted to understand where people feel the most connected to religion.
Everyone visits Banke Bihari and Prem Mandir, but these 5 temples are the real soul of Vrindavan!
The results of this survey may surprise many. India is among the top five countries, but not at the top of the list. Instead, a country near India has emerged as the world's most religious nation.
US News survey report
According to a survey conducted by US News among about 17 thousand people across the world, Saudi Arabia has emerged as the most religious country.
These results are from the 2024 Best Countries Ranking, a study compiled by a collaboration between WWP and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
The 10 Most Religious Countries in the World
Saudi Arabia
has a total population of 36 million.
Israel
has a total population of 10 million.
Iran's
total population is 92-93 million.
India's
total population is 1.4 billion.
United Arab Emirates
total population 10.9–11 million
Egypt
has a total population of 119-120 million.
Qatar
total population 3.15–3.17 million
Jordan
total population 11.6 -11.7 million
Turkey

Oman
has a total population of 5.6 million.
Notably, no US or European countries are included in this list. Besides India and Israel, there is no other non-Muslim majority country in the top 10.
These results reflect a larger global trend. While many Western societies in the 21st century increasingly identify as secular or non-religious, strong links to faith and religious identity are evident in countries in South Asia and the Middle East.
The survey found that, in these areas, religion has become an important part of everyday life and culture, influencing public life, traditions and personal beliefs to a greater extent than in most parts of the Western world.
