The ruling TMC in Bengal has strongly reacted and hit back at President Draupadi Murmu's statement on the rape and murder of a female doctor at Kolkata's government RG Hospital.
Senior TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said that in the RG Kar case, all of us, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and our entire party are in favor of justice and the culprit should be given the death penalty. But why is the President speaking now, because the incident happened in Bengal?
Very disappointed and horrified by this incident- President
Let us tell you that on Wednesday, the President expressed serious concern over the RG Kar incident and said that he is very disappointed and horrified by this incident. He made a strict remark and said that now it is enough.
The TMC leader questioned where she (President Murmu) was when such incidents took place in Unnao, Hathras, Badlapur in Maharashtra and Uttarakhand.
Where was she when gold medalist wrestler Sakshi Malik made allegations against former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. But now that it has happened in Bengal, it is a social crime. Ghosh said that when incidents of crime against women happen in BJP ruled states, why do you not give a statement? We respect you a lot. But please do not give statements like BJP leaders. This is my request to you.
