
News Topical, Digital Desk : Himachal Pradesh has suffered losses of more than Rs 1500 crore since the onset of monsoon on June 20. Officials gave information in this regard on Sunday (July 27). So far 88 people have died and 35 are missing in rain-related incidents. 1,316 houses have been completely or partially damaged in many parts of the state. During this time, people had to face incidents of floods, landslides and cloudbursts at many places.
According to the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC), 42 floods, 25 cloudbursts and 32 landslides occurred in the state during this monsoon. The local meteorological department on Sunday issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning in isolated areas of four districts- Kangra, Kullu Mandi and Shimla- for Tuesday.
200 roads closed due to rain
According to a PTI report, light to moderate rains lashed parts of the state in the last 24 hours since Saturday evening. Dharamsala recorded the highest rainfall of 35 mm. Sundernagar, Shimla, Murari Devi and Jubbarhatti witnessed thunderstorms. Due to rain on Sunday evening, about 200 roads including two national highways were closed for traffic and 75 power distribution transformers and 97 water supply schemes were also affected across the state.

In Mandi district alone, about 131 roads were closed, including the Manali-Kotali road (NH-70), where several cloudbursts caused heavy destruction on the night of June 30. In Kullu district, the National Highway (305) is blocked due to landslides. There was no significant change in the minimum and maximum temperatures. Kukumseri was the coldest at night, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 12.8 degrees Celsius, while Una was the hottest during the day, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 35.6 degrees Celsius.
